Trikliniska refers to a crystal system characterized by three unequal crystallographic axes that are not mutually perpendicular. This means that all three edge lengths are different (a ≠ b ≠ c), and all three interfacial angles are oblique and unequal (α ≠ β ≠ γ ≠ 90°). This is the least symmetrical crystal system.

In the trikliniska system, the unit cell is defined by the lengths of its three axes, a, b, and c, and the angles between them, α, β, and γ. The conditions for a trikliniska crystal system are a ≠ b ≠ c and α ≠ β ≠ γ ≠ 90°. Despite its low symmetry, the trikliniska system is important in mineralogy, as many minerals crystallize in this form. Examples of minerals belonging to the trikliniska system include plagioclase feldspars, triclinic pyroxenes (like enstatite and ferrosilite), kyanite, and rhodonite.

The geometric properties of trikliniska crystals are described by parameters related to their axes and angles. Due to the lack of symmetry elements like planes of symmetry or rotation axes (other than the identity element), trikliniska crystals can exhibit complex forms and are often difficult to distinguish without detailed crystallographic analysis, such as X-ray diffraction.
