totalpriset

Totalpriset is a term used in Swedish retail to denote the final amount a customer must pay for a good or service. It encompasses all charges that apply to the purchase, from the base price to taxes and additional fees. In practice, totalpriset is the total shown at checkout and on the receipt.

Components typically included are the base price, value-added tax (VAT), duties on cross-border sales if relevant, shipping and delivery charges, insurance, handling or service fees, payment surcharges, and any discounts or rebates. Some jurisdictions add environmental or recycling fees.

Distinctions: totalpriset is contrasted with pris exklusive moms (price before tax) and pris inklusive moms (price including VAT) in some contexts. In many consumer-protection regimes, price transparency requires that the total price be clearly displayed to avoid hidden charges. For online purchases, the totalpriset may be updated if you change the quantity or apply a promo code.

Examples: a product with base price 100 SEK, VAT 25 SEK, and shipping 50 SEK has a totalpriset of 175 SEK.
