tinapronssi
Tinapronssi, or tin bronze, is a copper-tin alloy widely used in engineering and art. It commonly contains 8-12% tin, with the remainder copper. Tin strengthens copper, increasing hardness and wear resistance while preserving ductility. It also provides good corrosion resistance, including to marine environments.
Manufacture and structure: The alloy is produced by melting copper and adding tin. At typical compositions,
History and usage: Tin bronze has ancient origins with the Bronze Age; it remains in use today
Variants: Specialized grades with higher tin contents exist for greater hardness, while other alloys add elements
