Thermosaturation is a concept related to the process of heating or cooling a substance. It describes the point at which a material can no longer absorb or release heat at a given rate without undergoing a phase change. This often refers to the temperature at which a substance transitions from one state to another, such as from solid to liquid (melting) or liquid to gas (boiling).

When a substance reaches its thermosaturation point for melting, it begins to absorb latent heat of fusion without an increase in temperature. Similarly, at the thermosaturation point for boiling, it absorbs latent heat of vaporization. This means that even though heat is being added, the temperature remains constant until the entire substance has completed its phase transition.

Conversely, during cooling, thermosaturation can refer to the point where a substance begins to release latent heat to solidify or condense, again without a drop in temperature until the transition is complete. Understanding thermosaturation is crucial in various fields, including thermodynamics, materials science, and engineering, for designing and controlling processes involving heat transfer and phase changes.
