Termogravimetrinen is a Finnish term referring to thermogravimetry. Thermogravimetry is an analytical technique used to measure the change in mass of a sample as a function of temperature or time in a controlled atmosphere. This technique is valuable for studying the thermal stability of materials, decomposition processes, and determining the composition of a sample.

In a thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), a sample is placed in a crucible that is suspended from a sensitive balance. The crucible and sample are then heated or cooled at a controlled rate, and their mass is continuously recorded. The resulting data is plotted as a graph of mass versus temperature or time. Deviations from a constant mass indicate a physical or chemical change occurring within the sample.
