tarkkaat
Tarkkaat were a type of ancient Finnish instrument, believed to be of pre-Christian origin. The instruments were consisted of small metal pieces, typically rods or bars, of varying length and thickness, hung from a horizontal rod or a stick, typically in a couple to five. A hanger made of a firm material and a grip of a wood or a bone was at either end of the horizontal rod. The lower end traditionally consisted of a sircle made of cow-bells. They can be dated back to the first half of 19th century, but specific origin and the purpose of these instruments remains uncertain.
Function and usage of instruments varied, but they were used mainly for magic, fortune telling, not least
Relics on Tarkkaat have been found from south, central and also from eastern coast and northern parts
