Szublingválisan is a Hungarian term used to describe something done under the tongue, and in pharmacology it specifically refers to sublingual administration or absorption. The method involves placing a substance on the under-surface of the tongue where it dissolves and is absorbed through the oral mucosa. The term derives from Latin sublingualis and is often used to distinguish this route from oral ingestion, buccal administration, or injections.

In medicine, sublingual administration is used for drugs that benefit from rapid onset or that are poorly absorbed when swallowed or degraded in the gastrointestinal tract.
