Szimultaneitás refers to the concept of simultaneity, the idea that two or more events occur at the same time. In everyday language, this is a straightforward notion. However, in physics, particularly in Einstein's theory of special relativity, the concept becomes more nuanced. Special relativity dictates that simultaneity is not absolute but is relative to the observer's frame of reference.

This means that two events that appear simultaneous to one observer might not appear simultaneous to another observer who is in motion relative to the first. This phenomenon arises from the fact that the speed of light is constant for all observers, regardless of their motion. Consequently, the time it takes for light to travel from an event to an observer's detection point is affected by the observer's velocity.

To illustrate, consider two lightning strikes occurring at different locations. An observer standing exactly midway between the strikes would perceive them as simultaneous if light from both strikes reaches them at the same instant. However, an observer moving towards one of the strikes would receive the light from that strike sooner than the light from the other, and thus would not consider the events simultaneous.
