Suureaju, also known as the cerebrum, is the largest and most prominent part of the human brain. It is responsible for higher-level functions such as thought, memory, emotion, and voluntary movement. The cerebrum is divided into two hemispheres, the left and right cerebral hemispheres, which are connected by a bundle of nerve fibers called the corpus callosum. Each hemisphere is further divided into four lobes: the frontal lobe, parietal lobe, temporal lobe, and occipital lobe.

The frontal lobe is involved in planning, decision-making, and personality. The parietal lobe processes sensory information such as touch, temperature, and pain. The temporal lobe is associated with memory, hearing, and language comprehension. The occipital lobe is primarily responsible for processing visual information. The outer layer of the cerebrum is the cerebral cortex, which is highly folded and wrinkled, increasing its surface area and allowing for a greater number of neurons. This complex structure is fundamental to human cognition and consciousness.
