studentereksamen

Studentereksamen is the Norwegian national examination that concludes upper secondary education (videregående skole). It is the main qualification for admission to higher education in Norway and typically follows the three-year program of study in the upper secondary level. The examination consists of written tests in several subjects, together with oral examinations in some subjects. Norwegian and English are standard components of the national assessment, while additional subjects are selected according to the student's study programme. In addition to the national exams, students receive standpunktkarakterer (final school grades) in each subject, which together with the exam results form the vitnemål, the official diploma. The exact set of compulsory and elective subjects depends on the student’s programme.

The exams are organized by the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training and are held annually, with
