Strålningsskyddskommissionen was a Swedish government agency responsible for radiation protection. Its primary mission was to safeguard human health and the environment from the harmful effects of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation. The commission was tasked with developing and implementing regulations, issuing guidelines, and monitoring radiation exposure across various sectors, including healthcare, industry, and the general public.

The agency's work involved assessing risks, setting dose limits, and providing expert advice to authorities and the public. It played a crucial role in ensuring that radiation sources were used safely and that any potential exposure was kept as low as reasonably achievable. Strålningsskyddskommissionen also conducted research and participated in international cooperation on radiation protection matters. In 2008, the agency was merged with Statens strålskyddsinstitut (SSI) to form Strålsäkerhetsmyndigheten (SSM), the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority. This consolidation aimed to create a more unified and efficient regulatory body for nuclear safety and radiation protection in Sweden.
