Staðurs is a term encountered in discussions of the Icelandic language and toponymy. It refers to a relational or possessive sense connected with the common noun staður, which denotes a place, site, or location. In standard modern Icelandic usage, the word staður is the primary form for a “place,” and most place-name formation relies on prefix, suffix, or compound structures rather than a distinct modern form called staðurs.

Linguistic discussions sometimes point to forms resembling staðurs in historical texts or dialectal material, where older inflectional patterns in Icelandic or Old Norse could yield a genitive- or possessive-like ending associated with staður. In such contexts, staðurs is regarded more as an artefact of historical grammar or scholarly analysis than as a productive contemporary form.
