spinals
Spinals, also known as spinales muscles, are a group of muscles within the erector spinae group, which is located along the back of the spine. This group consists of three parallel muscle groups: the iliocostalis, the longissimus, and the spinales. The spinales muscles are the most medial of these three, lying closest to the vertebral column. They are further divided into three parts: spinalis thoracis, spinalis cervicis, and spinalis capitis. The spinalis thoracis is the largest and most prominent, originating from the spinous processes of the thoracic vertebrae and inserting onto other spinous processes in the thoracic region. The spinalis cervicis has a similar arrangement in the cervical spine, and the spinalis capitis is sometimes considered part of the semispinalis capitis.
The primary function of the spinales muscles is to extend and stabilize the vertebral column. They play
