Soviéticos refers to citizens or natives of the Soviet Union, officially known as the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). The Soviet Union was a federal socialist state in Northern Eurasia that existed from 1922 to 1991. Its population was diverse, encompassing many ethnic groups and nationalities. The term "Soviético" is the Spanish and Portuguese word for Soviet.

The concept of a Soviet citizen was deeply tied to the ideology of the USSR, which emphasized collectivism and loyalty to the state and the Communist Party. Soviet identity was promoted as a supra-national identity, transcending individual ethnic or national affiliations, although in practice, national identities remained significant. Soviet citizens lived under a single political and economic system, with distinct social and cultural norms that developed over the decades of the USSR's existence.

The collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 led to the dissolution of the USSR into fifteen independent states. Individuals who were citizens of the Soviet Union at the time of its dissolution became citizens of these successor states, and the distinct category of "Soviet citizen" ceased to exist. However, the term "Soviético" is still used historically to refer to people from that era and country, and sometimes as a broader cultural or historical descriptor.
