Sensitization is a biological process where an organism becomes more responsive to a particular stimulus after repeated exposure to it. This increased responsiveness can manifest in various ways depending on the context, such as heightened physical reactions, learned behaviors, or increased emotional sensitivity. In immunology, sensitization refers to the development of an allergic response. Initially, the immune system may not react to a foreign substance, known as an allergen.
