Semenotvorný is a Czech term that translates to "seed-forming" or "spermatogenic" in English. It refers to the process of spermatogenesis, which is the biological process by which the male gametes, or sperm, are produced. This complex process occurs in the seminiferous tubules of the testes, the male reproductive organs.

Spermatogenesis begins at puberty and continues throughout a male's life. It involves a series of cell divisions and differentiations starting from diploid germ cells called spermatogonia. These cells undergo mitosis to produce more spermatogonia and also differentiate into primary spermatocytes. Primary spermatocytes then undergo meiosis I to form two haploid secondary spermatocytes. Each secondary spermatocyte undergoes meiosis II to produce two haploid spermatids. Finally, spermatids mature into spermatozoa, which are the mature sperm cells capable of fertilizing an ovum.

The entire process of spermatogenesis takes approximately 74 days.
