Sekundärkretsarna, or secondary circuits, are a fundamental concept in electrical engineering and power systems. They refer to the circuits that are connected to the output side of a transformer. In a transformer, the primary coil receives the input electrical energy, and the secondary coil, through electromagnetic induction, delivers the transformed electrical energy. The secondary circuit is where this transformed energy is utilized by loads.

The voltage and current in the secondary circuit are determined by the turns ratio of the transformer and the characteristics of the primary circuit. If the secondary coil has more turns than the primary coil, it's a step-up transformer, increasing the voltage. Conversely, if it has fewer turns, it's a step-down transformer, decreasing the voltage. The current will change inversely to the voltage, assuming ideal conditions, to conserve power.

Conversely, in many electronic devices, mains voltage is stepped down to lower voltages required by internal components.
