Sektörlere refers to the different branches or divisions within an economy. These sectors are typically categorized based on the type of economic activity undertaken by businesses and organizations within them. The most common and fundamental division is into primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors.

The primary sector involves the extraction and production of raw materials. This includes agriculture, fishing, forestry, mining, and quarrying. These activities are fundamental as they provide the basic resources needed for other economic activities.

The secondary sector, often called the manufacturing sector, involves the transformation of raw materials into finished goods. This encompasses industries such as construction, manufacturing of textiles, automobiles, electronics, and food processing. It is where value is added through processing and production.

The tertiary sector, also known as the service sector, involves the provision of services rather than the production of tangible goods. This is a very broad category and includes a wide range of activities such as retail, transportation, finance, healthcare, education, tourism, and information technology.

In developed economies, the tertiary sector is usually the largest in terms of employment and contribution to GDP. As economies evolve, there is often a shift from primary to secondary and then to tertiary sector dominance. Some economic models also propose a quaternary sector (information and knowledge-based services) and a quinary sector (high-level decision-making) to further refine these classifications, reflecting the increasing importance of knowledge and innovation. Understanding these sector divisions is crucial for analyzing economic structures, trends, and policy development.
