ryhmällä
Ryhmällä is the singular adessive form of the Finnish noun ryhmä, meaning group or team. In Finnish grammar the adessive suffix -llä/-lla commonly marks location “on/at” or means “with” in some constructions, and it is also used to indicate the possessor in sentences with the verb olla (to have).
One common use of ryhmällä is to express possession, as in the sentence “Ryhmällä on suunnitelma,” which
- Ryhmällä on selkeä tavoite. (The group has a clear objective.)
- Ryhmillä on erilaiset vastuut projektissa. (The groups have different responsibilities in the project.)
- Lähetys tehtiin ryhmälle koordinoidusti. (The shipment was coordinated for the group.)
Ryhmällä should not be confused with ryhmälle, the allative form meaning “to the group.” The base word
