Rombous is a term that refers to a specific type of polygon. It is a quadrilateral, meaning it has four sides. The defining characteristic of arombous is that all four of its sides are of equal length. This property distinguishes it from a general parallelogram, which only requires opposite sides to be equal.

In arombous, the opposite angles are equal, and adjacent angles are supplementary, summing to 180 degrees. The diagonals of arombous bisect each other at right angles. This means they intersect at their midpoint and form four 90-degree angles. Furthermore, the diagonals of arombous also bisect the angles of the polygon.

A square is a special case of arombous where all four angles are also right angles (90 degrees). Therefore, all squares are rhombouses, but not all rhombouses are squares. The area of arombous can be calculated in a few ways. If the lengths of the diagonals are d1 and d2, the area is (d1 * d2) / 2.
