Roheala is a constructed language used in speculative fiction and worldbuilding. It was designed by an online community of language enthusiasts beginning in the early 2010s to provide a cohesive linguistic backdrop for a fictional civilization. The term Roheala refers to both the language and the culture that speaks it in the imagined world.

Phonology and writing: Roheala has five vowels and a consonant inventory that includes p, t, k, m, n, l, s, r, w, and h. Syllables typically follow a CV pattern, with occasional CVR structures. Stress is usually penultimate. The writing system employs a Latin-based alphabet with diacritics to indicate vowel quality; some fan works use a separate script.

Grammar: The language is predominantly agglutinative and suffixing. Nouns carry case-like distinctions through postpositions and suffixes; the basic word order is subject–object–verb, with modifiers following the nouns they describe. Verbs are marked for aspect and mood; tense is often expressed through auxiliaries and verbal endings. Pronouns inflect for person and number, and demonstratives accompany nouns.

Lexicon and usage: Roheala vocabulary draws from semantically motivated roots linked to the environment and culture of its fictional speakers. Neologisms are regularly coined to reflect social and technological changes in the imagined world. The language appears in official chronicles, literature, and fan-created media within the franchise, and has a small but active documentation community including dictionaries and grammars.
