Riksrevisjonen, the Office of the Auditor General of Norway, is Norway’s supreme auditing institution (SAI). It functions as an independent government agency whose mandate is to audit the central government's use of public resources to promote accountability, transparency and proper management of funds. The office operates independently of the government and reports directly to the Storting (the Norwegian Parliament). The Riksrevisor, its head, is appointed by the Storting and serves a fixed term.
