restricteddata

Restricted Data (RD) is a United States legal category for information about the design, manufacture, or use of atomic weapons, as well as information about the production of special nuclear material. RD information is classified and controlled by statute to prevent its dissemination, reflecting the national security risks associated with nuclear technologies.

Under the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 (as amended), RD is safeguarded by the Department of Energy

RD is distinct from other classifications of national security information but is treated as highly sensitive.

Handling RD involves stringent safeguards, including secure storage, controlled transmission, and strict personnel access controls. Unauthorized

Internationally, other countries maintain their own classifications and restrictions for sensitive information related to nuclear technologies.
