Resistitiva is the feminine form of the adjective resistitivo in Spanish and Portuguese, used to describe things related to electrical resistance or to phenomena that impede the flow of electric current. It appears in contexts such as propiedad resistiva (resistive property), tecnología resistiva (resistive technology), or sensor resistivo (resistive sensor). In English, the comparable term is resistive.

In physics and engineering, resistance is a property of a material or component that opposes current flow and is measured in ohms. Materials have resistivity, a fundamental property that, together with geometry, determines resistance. Ohm’s law, V = IR, describes the linear relationship between voltage, current, and resistance for many materials at moderate currents and temperatures. Some materials exhibit non-linear or temperature-dependent resistance, and most metals increase resistance as temperature rises.

Resistive components are widely used across electronics and engineering. Resistors are the most common resistive elements, used to set currents and voltages in circuits. Heating elements convert electrical energy into heat through resistance. Resistive sensors rely on changes in resistance to detect temperature, strain, or other physical quantities. A common consumer example is the resistive touchscreen, or pantalla resistiva, which registers touch when two conductive layers contact under pressure, forming a voltage divider.
