Referenzphase is a term used in control engineering and signal processing to denote the phase angle of a reference signal. In many applications the reference signal r(t) is sinusoidal or can be approximated as a phasor, for example r(t) = A cos(ωt + φ_ref). The phase φ_ref is the referenzphase and represents the desired alignment in time between the reference and the system output.

In the frequency domain, a reference signal is described by its magnitude and phase, R(jω) = |R(jω)| e^{jφ_ref}. The referenzphase thus indicates the required phase relationship that the controller or the system should achieve relative to the input or to a coordinating signal. Tracking the correct phase is important when the system dynamics introduce phase shifts, so that the output follows the reference not only in amplitude but also in timing.

Applications and considerations: Referenzphase plays a key role in phase compensation, lead-lag networks, and feedforward control, where the phase of the reference is used to shape the transient response and improve accuracy. In multi-channel or synchronous systems, consistent referenzphasen across channels helps reduce cross-coupling and improves synchronization. In practice, the referenzphase may be time-varying, such as in modulated references, requiring phase estimation or alignment within the control loop.
