Redunantti is a neologism used in some Finnish-language discussions to refer to a dimensionless measure of redundancy within a system. It is not a standard term in formal engineering, but it appears in classroom materials, design discussions, and some speculative fiction where systems must tolerate component failures while remaining functional.

The word combines the English word redundant with the Finnish suffix -tti, forming a term that is easy to use in bilingual contexts.

In its common conceptual use, redunantti is defined as the proportion of components in a system that are redundant relative to the minimum set required for operation. One simple formulation is R = Nr / Nt, where Nr is the number of redundant components and Nt is the total number of components. In some texts, redunantti is defined as the extra capacity beyond a minimal functional configuration, i.e., R = (Nt - Nmin) / Nt, where Nmin is the smallest number of components needed to maintain functionality.

Because there is no standard definition, interpretations vary by field.
