Päästötyypit refer to different categories of emissions, primarily in the context of environmental science and regulation. These emissions are substances released into the atmosphere that can have adverse effects on air quality, climate, and ecosystems. Understanding these types is crucial for monitoring, controlling, and mitigating pollution.

Common categories include greenhouse gases, which trap heat in the atmosphere and contribute to global warming. Carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), and nitrous oxide (N2O) are primary examples. Another significant category is air pollutants, which can directly harm human health and the environment.
