The promyelocytic stage represents a specific phase in the maturation of granulocytes, a type of white blood cell. It is a crucial intermediate step in the development of neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils. A key characteristic of the promyelocytic stage is the appearance of prominent, coarse granules within the cytoplasm.
