programját

Programját is a Hungarian grammatical form that denotes “his/her/its program” when the noun is used as a definite direct object. It is formed by combining the noun program with the third-person possessive suffix (ja/je) and the definite direct-object suffix -t. The resulting form, programját, reflects both possession and definiteness in a single word.

Morphology and construction

The base word is program. To indicate ownership for a third person, Hungarian adds the possessive suffix -ja or -je, resulting in programja or programje. To mark the object as definite, the suffix -t is appended, giving programját. The exact -ja/-je choice follows standard Hungarian vowel harmony rules. Usage

Programját is used when the speaker refers to a specific program belonging to someone or something and treats the program as a definite object in the sentence. Examples include:

If the ownership is clear from context or stated explicitly with a separate possessive pronoun, other forms may be used, but programját remains the conventional definite-object construction for the third-person possessive.

It differs from possessive forms without the definite object marker (e.g., programja) that do not signal definiteness of the object.
