Proceswaarde is a Dutch term that translates to process value and refers to the value or state of a process at a given moment. The concept is used across different domains to describe what a process yields or what its current condition is.

In control theory and automation, de facto the proceswaarde is often equivalent to the process variable (PV): the measurable property that characterizes the system’s current state, such as temperature, pressure, or liquid level. The opposite of the proceswaarde is the target value or setpoint (streefwaarde). In practical documentation and dashboards, proceswaarde is used to denote the actual measured value that the control system uses to determine adjustments.

In manufacturing and process control, the proceswaarde is continuously monitored to ensure product quality and process safety. Deviations between the proceswaarde and the setpoint lead to corrective actions via the control loop, alarms, or process interventions.
