Proper storage is also important; condoms should be kept in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and sharp objects to prevent damage. Expiration dates should always be checked before use. Condoms are widely available over-the-counter at pharmacies, supermarkets, and other retail outlets, and are often distributed for free by public health organizations.
