potashsalt
Potash salt refers to a group of potassium-bearing minerals, primarily potassium chloride (KCl), that are extracted from underground deposits. These deposits are the result of ancient seas evaporating, leaving behind mineral-rich brines that eventually solidified into layers of salt. The term "potash" itself originates from the historical method of extracting potassium carbonate from wood ashes leached with water in a large pot. Today, the vast majority of potash production involves mining these underground mineral beds.
The primary use of potash salt is as a fertilizer in agriculture. Potassium is an essential nutrient
Major global producers of potash salt include Canada, Russia, Belarus, and Germany, each possessing substantial reserves.
