Postsünaptiline refers to events or structures that occur after a synapse. A synapse is a junction between two nerve cells, or between a nerve cell and a muscle or gland cell. This can include the opening or closing of ion channels, the activation of secondary messenger systems, and ultimately, changes in neuronal activity.
