Polarizációra refers to the phenomenon of polarization, specifically in the context of light or other transverse waves. It describes the orientation of the oscillations of the wave. For instance, light waves are electromagnetic waves with oscillating electric and magnetic fields that are perpendicular to the direction of propagation. Polarization specifies the direction in which these electric field oscillations occur. Unpolarized light, such as that from the sun or a typical light bulb, has oscillations in all possible directions perpendicular to the wave's path. There are several ways to achieve polarization. One common method is through the use of polarizing filters, which act like a sieve, allowing only waves with oscillations in a particular orientation to pass through.
