pojam

Pojam is a small village located in the municipality of Nišava, within the Rasina District of central Serbia. Situated on the southern slopes of the Kopaonik mountain range, the settlement lies at an altitude of approximately 550 meters above sea level and is traversed by the regional road connecting Niš with the town of Kruševac. According to the 2011 census, Pojam had a population of 417 inhabitants, the majority of whom identify as ethnic Serbs, with a minor presence of Roma and other groups.

Throughout
the
19th
and
early
20th
centuries,
Pojam
experienced
gradual
growth

to
the
development
of
fruit
orchards
and
livestock
breeding,

that
remain
central
to
its
local
economy.
Small-scale
agriculture,
particularly
the
cultivation
of
plums,
apples,
and
raspberries,
provides
both
subsistence
and
modest
commercial
output
for
the
residents.

infrastructure,
Pojam
maintains
a
close‑knit
community
characterized
by
traditional
customs
and
a
reliance
on
agriculture.
