Podílník is a Czech term that translates to shareholder or part-owner. It refers to an individual or entity that holds a share in a company or other form of collective ownership. This ownership stake typically grants the podílník certain rights and responsibilities, the specifics of which depend on the legal structure of the entity and the nature of the share held.

In the context of a joint-stock company (akciová společnost), a podílník is an akcionář, or shareholder, who owns one or more shares (akcie). These shares represent a fraction of the company's capital and entitle the holder to participate in its profits, typically through dividends, and to vote on company matters at general meetings. The extent of these rights is usually proportional to the number of shares owned.

For other types of business entities, such as limited liability companies (společnost s ručením omezeným), the term podílník can also refer to a holder of a business share (obchodní podíl). While similar in principle to owning shares in a joint-stock company, the rights and governance structures may differ. A podílník in an s.r.o. often has more direct involvement in the company's management, depending on the company's articles of association.
