Piridoxinfoszfát, also known as pyridoxine phosphate, is a phosphorylated derivative of vitamin B6. It denotes one of the phosphate esters formed from pyridoxine, a water-soluble B vitamin essential for multiple metabolic processes, including amino acid metabolism and neurotransmitter synthesis.

In humans, vitamin B6 exists in three main forms: pyridoxine (PN), pyridoxal (PL), and pyridoxamine (PM). Each can be phosphorylated to form PN-P, PL-P, and PM-P by specific kinases. These phosphate esters are interconvertible and can be dephosphorylated to their aglycones or oxidized to pyridoxal phosphate (PLP), the active coenzyme used in many enzymatic reactions.

Pyridoxal phosphate (PLP) functions as a coenzyme in a wide range of reactions, including transamination, decarboxylation, racemization of amino acids, and regulation of glycogen metabolism. Pyridoxine phosphate contributes to maintaining cellular PLP levels by serving as a storage or transport form that is converted to the active coenzyme as needed.

Dietary sources provide PN, PL, and PM. Vitamin B6 status depends on intake and the body's ability to interconvert and phosphorylate/dephosphorylate vitamers. Deficiency, though uncommon in many populations, can occur with poor intake or certain drug interactions and may lead to anemia, dermatitis, and neuropathy. Excessive intake of vitamin B6 supplements can also cause neuropathy.
