pipravte

Pipravte is a small municipality located in the southeastern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, within the Canton Goražde. The settlement is first mentioned in historical documents dating back to the 19th century, when it was a modest agrarian community engaged in livestock breeding and small-scale farming. During the Austro‑Hungarian administration, Pipravte was incorporated into the Banja Luka district and became noted for its local craft of basket weaving.

The population of Pipravte has fluctuated over time, primarily due to the demographic shifts caused by the Bosnian War in the 1990s. According to the 2013 census, the village had a population of 1,200 residents, predominantly Bosniak, with a minority of Croat and Serb inhabitants. The economy of Pipravte remains largely rural and is supported by agriculture, forestry and some low‑scale tourism focused on the nearby nature reserves.

Pipravte is connected to the regional transport network by a local road that links it to the main highway leading to Sarajevo. Public services in the municipality include a primary school, a community health center, and a local cultural hall that hosts regional festivals. The residents celebrate an annual harvest festival where traditional Bosnian cuisine, music, and folk dance are showcased.
