Pedstaviteli, often transliterated as predstaviteli and written in Cyrillic as представители, is a term used in Slavic language contexts to denote individuals or bodies authorized to act on behalf of others. The concept covers political, legal, corporate, and social settings, where one party delegates authority to another to speak, decide, or sign on its behalf.

In politics, representatives are typically elected or appointed to advocate for constituents, participate in legislative processes, and manage public decisions. In legal contexts, a representative can be an attorney, guardian, curator, or agent empowered by a mandate or power of attorney to pursue a case, manage property, or conduct transactions. In business, representatives may act as agents, distributors, or sales staff authorized to bind the organization through contracts or communications.

Authority and scope are defined by law, contract, or organizational rules. Actions taken within the granted authority generally bind the represented party, while acts outside the scope may carry liability for the representative or be considered invalid. The relationship can end by revocation, expiration of the mandate, death, or loss of capacity.

Historically and in modern systems, representation is essential for governance, commerce, and civil law, enabling efficient decision-making when direct involvement of all stakeholders is impractical. It also raises questions about accountability, fiduciary duties, and limits on power.
