Papiru, also known as papyrus, is a material used in ancient Egypt for writing and other purposes. It is made from the pith of the papyrus plant, Cyperus papyrus, which grows abundantly along the Nile River. The process of making papyrus involved stripping the outer rind of the plant and then slicing the pith into thin strips. These strips were then laid side-by-side, covered with another layer of strips at a right angle, and pressed together. The natural sap of the plant acted as an adhesive, binding the layers into a cohesive sheet.
