oynaydi

oynaydi is a verb form in Uzbek meaning “plays.” It is the third-person singular present simple form of the verb o‘ynamoq, which means “to play.” The standard orthography in Uzbek uses the form o‘ynaydi, with the apostrophe representing the oʼ sound; in informal or older texts you may also see the variant oy­naydi or oy­naydi-like spellings without the apostrophe. Despite spelling variants, the meaning remains the same: the subject performs a playing action in the present.

The form is used to describe habitual or current activities by a single third-person subject, such as a person or a named entity. Examples include: “U futzal o‘ynaydi” (He/She plays futsal); “U maktabda o‘ynaydi” (He/She plays at school); “Shaharda ular o‘ynaydilar” (There they play), where agreement depends on the subject.
