Living donation typically involves close medical follow-up and risk assessment.

Ethical and legal frameworks emphasize donor autonomy, informed consent, confidentiality, and equity in access to transplants. Public awareness, donor registration, and policies such as opt-in or opt-out systems influence donation rates and organ availability.
