Ophaalcodering, also known as pick-to-light or order picking illumination, is an order fulfillment technology used in warehouses and distribution centers. It guides warehouse workers through the picking process using illuminated displays and lights at each pick location. When an order is processed, the system activates lights at the designated bins or shelves where items are stored.

The system typically involves a control unit connected to a series of lights and corresponding displays, often with numeric indicators. As a picker approaches a pick location, the light illuminates, and a display shows the quantity of the item to be picked. Once the picker confirms the pick, usually by pressing a button on the light fixture or scanning the item, the light deactivates, and the system directs the picker to the next item on their order.

Ophaalcodering aims to improve efficiency, accuracy, and speed in the order picking process. By providing clear visual cues, it reduces the need for paper pick lists and minimizes the chances of picking errors.
