oisimos
Oisimos is a genus of moths in the family Erebidae. The genus was first described by William Dunning in 1864. Oisimos moths are found in Australia and New Zealand. They are medium-sized moths with a wingspan of about 30 to 40 millimeters. The forewings are typically brown or gray with darker markings, while the hindwings are usually lighter in color. The larvae of Oisimos moths are typically green or brown and feed on the leaves of various plants, including eucalyptus and acacia. Adult Oisimos moths are nocturnal and are attracted to light. They feed on nectar from flowers. The genus Oisimos currently contains only one described species, Oisimos velutina. Further research is needed to fully understand the biology and ecology of Oisimos moths.
