ogarvade

Ogarvade is a small town and commune in the fictional region of Northcrest on the continent of Eldoria. It is situated on the banks of the Lir River at the foothills of the Skyreach Mountains, about 60 kilometers northeast of the regional capital.

Founded in the 12th century around a water mill, Ogarvade grew as an agricultural community. It passed through several feudal sovereignties and experienced modernization in the 19th century, when a steam mill and a regional road reached the town.

The town has a temperate climate with mild winters and moderate rainfall. The surrounding landscape includes farmland and deciduous woodland, with the mountains providing scenic views and opportunities for hiking.

Today, Ogarvade's economy centers on farming (grain and dairy), small-scale woodworking and crafts, and tourism attracted by countryside trails and a well-preserved historic core. The town is served by regional roads and a small river port.

Administratively, Ogarvade is governed by a volunteer municipal council within Northcrest County. The population is diverse and tight-knit, with a mix of long-standing families and newer residents, and a cultural calendar featuring the annual Harvest Festival.

Key institutions include two primary schools, a secondary school, and a public library. The Ogarvade Church and the Old Mill are listed local landmarks.
