The nasale skeleton, often referred to as the nasal bones, forms the anterior and superior part of the bony framework of the nose. It is a paired structure, with each nasal bone articulating with its counterpart at the midline. These bones are relatively small and quadrilateral in shape, located on either side of the bridge of the nose.

The nasale skeleton is formed by the fusion of the nasal bones. Each nasal bone articulates superiorly with the frontal bone, forming the nasofrontal suture. Laterally, it articulates with the frontal process of the maxilla. Inferiorly, the nasal bones extend downwards, contributing to the formation of the nasal aperture, the opening into the nasal cavity. They also articulate with the septal cartilage of the nose. The nasale skeleton plays a crucial role in protecting the nasal cavity and providing support for the external nose. Its prominence and shape contribute significantly to the overall appearance of the face. Fractures to the nasale skeleton are common and often result from direct trauma to the nose.
