Nucleyans are hypothetical elementary particles that are proposed to exist within the nucleus of atoms. The term "nucleyan" is not a recognized term in standard particle physics, and no experimental evidence currently supports the existence of such particles. The established constituents of atomic nuclei are protons and neutrons, which are collectively referred to as nucleons. Nucleons are composite particles, each made up of quarks. Protons consist of two up quarks and one down quark, while neutrons consist of one up quark and two down quarks. These quarks are bound together by the strong nuclear force, mediated by gluons.

The concept of nucleyans might arise from theoretical explorations that extend beyond the Standard Model of particle physics.
