Norskkunnskaper is the Norwegian term for proficiency in the Norwegian language. In practice, it refers to the ability to understand and use Norwegian in listening, reading, speaking, and writing, for everyday and professional purposes.

The concept is important for integration and participation in Norwegian society. It is used in education, employment, civic life, and by authorities when determining eligibility for residence, citizenship, or access to services.

Assessment is usually described using the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), from A1 (beginner) to C2 (mastery). Many formal evaluations measure all four language skills and produce an overall level.
