nopeutumisella
Nopeutumisella is a genus of small, freshwater snails with a gill and an operculum, an external shell. It is an extinct genus of freshwater gastropod mollusks in the family Hydrobiidae. The genus was first described by the German malacologist Friedrich August von Quenstedt in 1858. The type species is Nopeutumisella nopeutumisella, which was originally described by the French naturalist Jean-Baptiste Lamarck in 1816 under the genus Nopeutumisella. The genus is known from the Miocene epoch, which spans from about 23.03 to 5.333 million years ago. Fossils of Nopeutumisella have been found in Europe, particularly in Germany and France. The genus is characterized by its small size, typically less than 10 millimeters in length, and its smooth, rounded shell. The genus is of interest to paleontologists and malacologists due to its rarity and the limited information available about its biology and ecology.
