nononomastic

Nononomastic is an uncommon term that has appeared in occasional discussions of naming and onomastics. It has no widely accepted definition and is not used in major scholarly literature.

In informal usages, the word is described as relating to names in a way that is not onomastic, or as a speculative attempt to describe a naming convention involving multiple names. The prefix is ambiguous: non- can mean not, which would suggest “not naming” or “not related to names”; alternatively, some readers interpret a numeral reading, connecting non- to nine and implying a “nine-name” scheme. Neither interpretation is standardized, and the term remains unsettled in meaning.

Because of its rarity, there are few if any published examples. It may appear in informal word lists or in forums as a playful coinage, but it is not part of established onomastic terminology or formal reference works.
